Each NPSS student has three (3) opportunities to write this mandatory assessment prior to graduation. The numeracy assessment score will appear on the student’s transcript and will be viewable by post-secondary institutions. Be aware that some institutes are also using this score as part of their acceptance review process.
Any grade 10 or 11 students currently enrolled in a mathematics course at NPSS this semester have been pre-registered to write the assessment during the January Exam Session (24th & 25th). As well, all grade 12’s were pre-registered. Each subsequent assessment offering, of the three allowed, provides the student with an opportunity to improve their score. If students elect not to rewrite an assessment they are pre-registered for, their transcript will only indicate the score received on their first attempt. If they elect to rewrite the assessment and score a higher mark, the higher mark will be indicated on their final transcript.
