The Sr. Alt class held a ceremony on Wednesday to officially open the Peace Orchard and Healing Gardens. Ally Peever and Maddie Carter were the mc’s. They invited Elder Madeline Davis from Doig River First Nation to open the event with a prayer of thanks. Tristan Jansen accompanied Dale in performing the song ‘Healing Bear’, and then speeches were made by Montana Davis-Green and Connal Cameron, as well as guests Reg Whiten from Tree Canada and Jeff Spenst from Pembina Pipeline. Dillon, Kari, and student volunteers provided a barbecue lunch. The Senior Alt class is incredibly proud of their efforts and hope to see the produce used by the school and community for years to come.
