The Governor General’s Academic Medal, established in
1873, recognizes students who have achieved the highest
academic average. The Bronze medal is awarded at the
secondary school level. This is one of the most prestigious
awards that a secondary school student in Canada can
receive. On November 12, 2025, Mr. Todd Koponyas,
Principal of North Peace Secondary School, was pleased
to present the 2025 Governor General’s Bronze Academic
Medal to Krispin Johnson, on behalf of the Governor
General Mary Simon. Krispin had an academic grade point
average of 95.53%.
